OPAL Q&A w/ Gabriel Ananda, Sandrino and Nicky Elisabeth

OPAL’s crazy adventure will bring us into a colourful and mysterious dimension tonight! Hereby some questions towards our co-pilots of the night!

  • SANDRINO

If you were a sci-fi character, who would you be?
I would like to be James. T Kirk, captain of the Enterprise – not the one from the new movies though ; ). Why, definitely not because of his responsibility for the whole crew and the spaceship but for his endless adventures experienced while traveling through time & space.

What track takes you out in space?
Maybe it’s a cliché but every time I listen to Jean Michele Jarre´s Oxygen LP it warps me far far away on an intergalactic journey passing black holes, wormholes, supernovae and more of all these beautiful cosmic events.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?
Definitely time travel. I must admit that I’m a very nostalgic person and I would love to go back in time to deliberately experience the feel of every single decade of the past 100 years but also further. I would love to meet Einstein or Werner Heisenberg to talk about the theory of relativity and the uncertainty principle, also Edwin Hubble when he discovered that there are more galaxies out there then our milky way. Only into the future I wouldn’t go as I like the unknown and the surprise even though I’m curious.

  • GABRIEL ANANDA

If you were a sci-fi character, who would you be?
Counselor Troi. I am very empathic and love to counsel people.

What track takes you out in space?
Koan – Odysseus under the old tree

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?
Flying, i really love to freely move in space in all directions

  • NICKY ELISABETH

If you were a sci-fi character, who would you be?
I would be Thor. I’d have great hair, the ability to fly, a hammer named Mjölnir (who only I can pick up, works as a great party trick too) and embark on adventures across the galaxy! A big no-brainer for me. Haha. Although if I think about it a little longer, many sci-fi characters have quite some appealing aspects; The ones in the non-thriller ones at least. Please don’t turn me into Ellen Ripley.

What track takes you out in space?
Remembering Infinity by Kurt Baggaley. It was the first track I ever played in the main room of De Marktkantine and it set the mood to what became a truly magical night. Something else that takes me to another world, but is a little less sci-fi, is the music of Zelda. When I listen to it, I feel as if I’m in this truly soothing, calm, perfect place.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation. Imagine. Not. Having. To. Travel. Or at least, only skip the unpleasant part of travelling. I truly enjoy seeing the world and experiencing everything there is, but not so much the plane food ; ). If I could, I would visit the ocean every weekend, I love swimming and diving. The underwater world is one of the few places I feel free and in the moment.

On Saturday April 13 we’ll explore OPAL’s musical journey with Gabriel Ananda, Marcus Worgull, Frankey & Sandrino and Nicky Elisabeth. Click here for more information and tickets.
